Privacy Policy
Effective September 30, 2026
dailywriter is made by Goodrum Studios. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version is that we do not have a server, so there is nowhere for us to keep anything about you.
What we collect
Nothing.
dailywriter has no account system, no sign-in, and no analytics. We do not collect your name, your email address, your location, your device identifiers, or any record of how you use the app. We do not use trackers, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics services.
Your writing
Your writing is never sent to us and we cannot read it.
On the free tier, your writing is not stored at all. It exists only while your session is open. When the session ends you are offered the chance to save it as a file on your device, and after that it is gone.
With dailywriter+, your writing is stored in your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so it can appear on your other Apple devices. That data belongs to your Apple ID. It is governed by Apple's privacy policy, and we have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no way to recover it for you.
Artificial intelligence
dailywriter does not use AI. Your writing is never sent to a language model, an autocomplete service, a grammar checker, or any similar system. The app has never made such a request and is not built to.
Purchases
dailywriter+ is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and we never see your payment details, billing address, or card information. We receive no personal information from Apple about who has subscribed.
Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder, the notification is scheduled on your device by your device. Nothing is sent from a server and no notification service receives information about you.
Children
dailywriter is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since the app collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children.
Data deletion
Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete.
Deleting the app removes anything stored locally on that device. To remove writing synced through dailywriter+, delete the documents in the app, or remove the app's data from your iCloud storage through your device's Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app.
